SYNOPSIS

Elle Woods appears to have it all. Her life is turned upside down when her boyfriend Warner dumps her so he can attend Harvard Law. Determined to get him back, Elle ingeniously charms her way into the prestigious law school. While there, she struggles with peers, professors and her ex. With the support of some new friends, though, Elle quickly realizes her potential and sets out to prove herself to the world.

PREPARATION

Elm Street is taking extreme measures to ensure your safety and well-being. We want to make this experience as comfortable, safe, and fun as possible for everyone involved.
 
We are currently adhering to the following procedures:
– screening temperatures upon arrival
– requiring masks during the rehearsal and performance process
– reducing physical contact
– washing hands regularly
– disinfecting spaces after usage
– maintaining social distancing requirements when applicable
– monitoring COVID-19 related symptoms throughout rehearsals
 
Please be sure to read over Elm Street’s full COVID In-Person program procedures before applying to audition: http://bit.ly/in-person-escav. Auditions will only be through in-person submissions on Sunday, June 13th starting at 6:00pm.
 
Prepare 32 bars in the style of the show with an accompaniment/karaoke track on a mobile device. *Please bring any attachments to connect to a headphone jack. Additionally, be prepared to do cold readings from the show.

In-person callbacks will take place on Wednesday, June 16th at 6:00pm. Information about callbacks will be emailed separately.
 
Rehearsals are scheduled Mondays, Wednesday, and Thursdays from 7:00PM-10:00PM, as well as some Saturdays, from 10:00AM – 6:00PM. A full schedule will be available to view prior to first rehearsal. Rehearsals are subject to change and may vary due to conflicts and director discretion.

Note: All roles will be played by adults ages 16+.

Elle Woods
The quintessential Valley Girl who follows her ex-boyfriend to Harvard Law School and realizes that she has more to offer than just a pretty face and a bubbly personality.
Gender: Female
Age: 18 to 25
Vocal range top: G5
Vocal range bottom: Gb2

Emmett Forrest
A smart and sensitive law student who takes Elle under his wing. He is charming, quirky, loveable, and friendly.
Gender: Male
Age: 20 to 25
Vocal range top: A4
Vocal range bottom: B2
 
Margot
Margot is the seemingly dim-witted, boy-crazy sorority sister. Elle’s entourage who follows her through the story acting as her “Greek Chorus.” A strong singer and dancer with good comic timing and youthful energy! 
Gender: Female
Age: 18 to 25
Vocal range top: F5 Belt
Vocal range bottom: G#3
 
Kyle B. O’Boyle
Kyle is a physically fit, smooth-talking UPS deliveryman. We soon find out that he is Paulette’s dream guy. Must be comfortable with dogs. Irish dancing skills are a plus!
Gender: Male
Age: 18 to 35
No vocal requirements, but singing ability preferred
 
Select Supporting & Ensemble Roles TBD
Between 2 & 7 both male and female. Strong singers and dancers to portray a variety of roles (Greek Chorus, Students, Delta Nu Members, etc.)

AUDITION APPLICATION

  • Accepted file types: jpg, png, pdf, jpeg, Max. file size: 10 MB.
    The file must be a JPG, PNG, PDF, or JPEG no larger than 10mb.
  • Accepted file types: pdf, Max. file size: 10 MB.
    The file must be a PDF no larger than 10mb.
  • Please list all conflicts, vacations, etc. between the dates of June 22nd, 2021 and August 29th, 2021. Mandatory Dates are NON-NEGOTIABLE. There may be additional promo/events or appearances you will be called to, but those will be discussed once cast is in place. Rehearsals are scheduled Mondays, Wednesday, and Thursdays from 7:00PM-10:00PM, as well as some Saturdays, from 10:00AM - 6:00PM. A full schedule will be available to view prior to first rehearsal. Rehearsals are subject to change and may vary due to conflicts and director discretion.

    *MANDATORY DATES*
    Press Day: 6:00PM - 10:00PM Wednesday, July 7th (rehearsal to begin as soon as Press Day ends)

    Tech Rehearsals:
    August 7th, 10:00AM - 6:00PM
    August 9th - August 12th, 6:00PM - 10:00PM (or run is finished)

    Shows: August 13th - August 29th, call is 6:00PM on Fri, Sat, and 1:00PM Sun.

    Strike: Immediately following closing (August 29th) and lasts until everything is struck or 7:00PM whichever comes first.
